× and ÷ by 10

Digits move one place left when you × 10 and one place right when you ÷ 10.

Percent

Per cent means 'out of 100'. 35% = 35/100 = 0.35.

Finding %

10% = ÷ 10. 5% = half of 10%. Build others from these.

Worked example

Find 30% of 80

  1. 110% of 80 = 8
  2. 230% = 3 × 8 = 24 ✅
