Column methods
Line up ones under ones, tens under tens. Carry or exchange when a column goes over 9.
BODMAS
Brackets → Orders (powers) → Division & Multiplication → Addition & Subtraction.
Worked example
Work out 3 + 4 × 2

- 24 × 2 = 8
- 33 + 8 = 11 ✅ (not 14!)
