Primes
Exactly two factors: 1 and itself. 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13… (1 is NOT prime).
Divisibility
÷3 if digits add to a multiple of 3. ÷5 ends in 0/5. ÷9 digits sum to multiple of 9.
Indices
2⁴ = 2×2×2×2 = 16. Multiply → add powers; divide → subtract powers.
Worked example
Simplify 3⁴ × 3²
- 1Same base → add the powers
- 24 + 2 = 6
- 3= 3⁶ ✅
