Pythagoras' Theorem
In a right-angled triangle, a² + b² = c² — always.

📖 Learn
Hypotenuse
The longest side, opposite the right angle. That's c.
Longer side
Square, add, square root: c = √(a² + b²).
Shorter side
Square, subtract, square root: a = √(c² − b²).
Worked example
Sides 6 and 8. Find the hypotenuse.
- 16² + 8² = 36 + 64 = 100
- 2√100 = 10
- 3Hypotenuse = 10 ✅
🧪 Play with it: Right-angled triangle
3² + 4² = 9 + 16 = 25 → c = 5
